An efficient and rapid microwave irradiation protocol have been developed for the synthesis of a new series of N-(4-R-phenyl)-6-methyl-4-(4-{[5-(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl]methoxy}phenyl)-2-oxo-3-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropyrimidine-5-carboxamides. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their in vitro antidiabetic activity by the α-amylase inhibition assay, and some derivatives exhibited a significant antidiabetic activity.en_US
