Abstract: Principles of concurrent engineering have come to stay as an alternative to conventional sometimes nay conservative manufacturing approaches to offer benefits related to cost, quality and time. Considering the typical example of production of cylindrical shafts, the paper highlights the importance of concurrent engineering approach over that of conventional approach signifying the erudition of team effort associated with it.
