Abstract: Indoles are a significant heterocyclic system in natural products and drugs. These are significant classes of chemicals and organic compounds that are key to cell biology. In recent years, there has been an increase in interest in the use of indole derivatives as biologically active molecules for the treatment of bacteria, cancer cells, and various forms of illnesses in the human body. In this review, we aim to highlight the construction of indoles as a moiety and the synthesis of derivatives from that moiety.
